Why Bethemesh is Local First

Learn what local processing means and why your files stay inside the browser.

Published 27 July 2026Updated 27 July 20261 minBeginner

Local First means the browser is the primary place for work and storage. The cloud is only an optional synchronization service.

Your files stay on your device

Imported files, previews and results are not sent to the server. Transformations run locally in the browser.

Good to know: creating an account does not change this rule. Sync only covers processing recipes and personal templates.

Useful without an account

You can use tools, create pipelines, save templates and export your configuration without signing in.

Why this choice?

Local First provides several benefits:

  • stronger privacy;
  • more resilient operation;
  • less server dependency;
  • lower infrastructure costs;
  • continued user control.

What about offline use?

Once site resources are loaded, most local features remain available. Account and synchronization features naturally require a connection.
