Clean a text list
Clean, deduplicate and sort text lines.
What does this template do?
Clean, deduplicate and sort text lines.
Paste a raw list (addresses, keywords, references, names): the template normalises spaces, removes empty lines, keeps one occurrence of each line, then sorts everything. The result appears ready to copy, with no file to download.
Pipeline steps
This template automatically chains 5 steps in the Workspace. You can review every setting before running it.
- 1Type or paste text
- 2Clean up spaces and lines
- 3Remove duplicate lines
- 4Sort lines
- 5Copy the result
Why the steps come in this order
Cleaning comes before deduplication: “Paris” and “Paris␣” only become identical once the space is gone. Sorting comes last, on a list that is already deduplicated and therefore shorter.
When should you use this template?
- Merge several keyword lists and remove the repetitions.
- Prepare a sorted list of product references for a quote.
- Clean a list of email addresses pasted from several messages.
Local processing in your browser
When the selected modules support local processing, your files stay on your device while the Pipeline runs.
Settings to check
- Source text: paste it in the first step, one entry per line.
- Sort: ascending alphabetical order by default, descending as an alternative.
- Cleaning and deduplication have no settings.
Example
- Before
- 320 keywords pasted from three tables, 95 of them duplicated, separated by empty lines.
- After
- 225 unique keywords sorted from A to Z, ready to copy.
Limits to know
- Two lines must be identical to be merged: case and accents count.
- Sorting takes numbers into account: “lot 9” comes before “lot 10”, but spelling variants are not grouped.
- A line holding several comma-separated values stays a single entry.
