What does this template do?
Convert data types, format and round values.
This template fixes the data types of an imported table: an amount column read as text becomes numeric, a text column is made consistent, then a number column is rounded. It is the usual preparation before a calculation or a database import.

Why the steps come in this order
Type conversion comes first, because rounding only makes sense on real numbers. Text formatting and rounding can target different columns; they stay after the conversion so they work on values that already have the right type.
When should you use this template?
- Turn amounts exported as text into numbers, then round them to two decimals.
- Convert an “Active” column to true/false before filtering.
- Prepare dates read as text before a chronological sort.
Local processing in your browser
When the selected modules support local processing, your files stay on your device while the Pipeline runs.
Settings to check
- Conversion: one column and a target type (text, number, boolean, date); text by default.
- Formatting: one column and a mode (spaces, upper case, lower case, capitalise).
- Rounding: one column and a number of decimals from 0 to 12; 0 by default.
Example
- Before
- “Amount” column read as text (“12.5”, “7.349”) and a “Region” column in mixed case.
- After
- Numeric “Amount” rounded to 2 decimals (12.5; 7.35) and “Region” in capitals.
Limits to know
- Each step handles one column; add steps to convert several.
- Check the preview after conversion: a value that does not match the requested type does not become valid by itself.
- Rounding changes the exported value, not only how it is displayed.
