What does this template do?
Add page numbers and a watermark, then compress the PDF before downloading it.
This template adds page numbers and a text watermark, such as “CONFIDENTIAL” or “DRAFT”, then compresses the document. It prepares an identifiable working copy before a review or a restricted release.

Why the steps come in this order
Numbers and the watermark are placed before compression, on the original document. With balanced compression they then become part of each page image, which makes them harder to remove.
When should you use this template?
- Mark a contract version sent for review as “DRAFT”.
- Number a file assembled from several PDFs before printing it.
- Release an internal report with “CONFIDENTIAL” on every page.
Local processing in your browser
When the selected modules support local processing, your files stay on your device while the Pipeline runs.
Settings to check
- Numbering: starts at 1, size 10, 24-point margin by default.
- Watermark: text “CONFIDENTIEL”, opacity 0.25, size 48 and 45° rotation by default; change the text to your language.
- Compression: “Balanced” by default, which turns pages into images of about 83 dpi; choose “Lossless” to keep the text selectable.

Limits to know
- A watermark deters but does not protect: it does not prevent copying or screenshots.
- With balanced compression, the document text can no longer be searched.
- The same watermark applies to every page.
