Secure PDF redaction means removing information from the version you share, not merely hiding it visually. This matters for names, addresses, account numbers, signatures and confidential figures.
Why a black rectangle is not enough
A PDF can keep text or objects underneath a shape. The information may look hidden while remaining selectable or recoverable. A sharing copy should no longer contain the original sensitive content in a recoverable form.
Secure redaction in Bethemesh
Securely redact a PDF reconstructs affected pages as rasterized content with the selected areas covered. The underlying text is not kept as recoverable PDF text or objects.
The trade-off is intentional: rasterized pages no longer behave like the original selectable text.
Redact, then sanitize
The Redact a PDF before sharing Pipeline runs Import → Redact → Sanitize → Download. Redaction handles visible sensitive areas; sanitization addresses other document elements such as selected metadata, JavaScript, automatic actions or embedded-attachment references.
