How does this tool work?
This calculator follows the general Spanish rules for university access and admission. The access grade is 60% normalized Bachillerato average plus 40% PAU. University-specific weighted subjects can then raise the admission grade to 14.
The access grade is out of 10: 60% of the Bachillerato average and 40% of the PAU grade. You need at least 4/10 in the PAU and 5/10 overall to enter university. For example, an 8 average and a 7 in the PAU give 0.6 × 8 + 0.4 × 7 = 7.6.
The admission grade, used for ranking, can reach 14: each subject weighted by the university and degree, passed with at least 5, adds its grade multiplied by 0.1 or 0.2. Only the two best contributions count, 4 points at most.

What is the cut-off grade?
It is the admission grade of the last student admitted to a degree the year before, on a 5 to 14 scale. It changes every year with the number of places and applicants.
How long are PAU grades valid?
The access grade has no time limit. The grades of the subjects used for admission count for the two following academic years.
Can I retake the PAU to improve my grade?
Yes: you can sit a new session. For the access grade, the new grade only counts if it is higher than the previous one.
