How does this tool work?
Splitting a PDF separates one document into several consecutive files: one chapter per file, each invoice of a scanned batch on its own, or a long file in sections to send separately. Instead of typing page ranges, you place splits directly between the thumbnails. Each part is downloaded as an independent PDF, and the whole job runs in your browser.
Click a page to place a split right after it; click again to remove it. The pages between two splits form a group, and a counter shows the number of splits. Split after every page produces one file per page, and Clear splits starts over.
When you run it, each group is copied into its own PDF in document order: pages are neither recompressed nor turned into images. With n splits you get n + 1 files, downloaded one after another and numbered in order.
The parts always cover the whole document, with no gaps or overlaps. To keep only one part, use Extract PDF pages instead; to cut every N pages or below a maximum size, Split a PDF by size or page count works out the splits for you.

- Note the last page of each section in advance: that is the page to click, not the first page of the next section.
- If only the first file arrives, the browser blocked the following downloads: allow them for this site and run it again.
- Rename the parts after downloading so you can find their content easily.
Frequently asked questions
How many files will I get?
One more than the number of splits: n splits give n + 1 PDFs. With no split at all, the split button stays inactive.
Can I get one file per page?
Yes. Split after every page places a split after every page except the last.
Can I leave some pages out?
No, splitting distributes the whole document. Remove unwanted pages first with Remove PDF pages, or extract only the part you need.
Does page quality change?
No. Each page is copied as it is into its part: text stays selectable and images are not recompressed.
Why was only one file downloaded?
Many browsers ask for permission before several downloads in a row. Accept the prompt or allow the site, then split again.
Is the PDF uploaded to be split?
No. Thumbnails, splits and output files are handled in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.
