Track a newsletter
Tell apart, in your analytics, the visits from each send and each button.
Build a trackable URL with UTM source, medium, campaign, term and content.
This builder adds UTM parameters to a destination URL so that visits from a newsletter, a social post or an ad are credited to the right source in Google Analytics, Matomo or any tool that reads these parameters. It keeps existing parameters and encodes every value correctly.
The destination URL must be an absolute http or https address; otherwise an error message appears.
The five fields fill in utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content. Leading and trailing spaces are removed and each value is encoded (a space becomes +).
An empty field removes the corresponding UTM parameter if it was already in the URL; a filled field replaces the old value instead of creating a duplicate.
The URL’s other parameters, such as ?ref=home, and any fragment are kept; the UTM parameters are added after them in a fixed order.
The exact address of the target page, with https://.
For example newsletter, email and summer-sale-2026.
The term for a paid keyword, the content to tell apart two links in the same message.
Use it as it is in your email, post or ad.
Tell apart, in your analytics, the visits from each send and each button.
Compare visits from the same post shared on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.
Find out how many visits come from a poster or brochure by encoding a UTM URL in the QR code.
The existing ref parameter is kept and the four UTM parameters are added after it; utm_term, left empty, does not appear.

Each filled field replaces the existing value and each empty field removes the parameter, so you get a URL without duplicates that matches the form.
No, as long as you keep them for external links. If URLs with UTM parameters get shared and crawled, a canonical tag pointing to the clean URL avoids duplicates.
That is the standard encoding for query parameters. Analytics tools decode them back to spaces, but hyphens give more readable reports.
No. The URL is built in your browser.
