Searching a report
Search or compare the text of several report versions without dealing with the PDF layout.
Recover the written content of a PDF as a plain text file. This tool reads characters already present in the document; it does not recognize letters in page images. For a report exported from a word processor, direct extraction avoids a slower OCR pass that might introduce recognition errors. Choose relevant pages before copying or downloading the result.
Your files are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to our servers.
Extract the existing text layer from selected pages, without OCR.

Text fragments are grouped into lines using their positions on each page. Lines follow an estimated reading order, with a blank line between pages. UTF-8 output preserves the characters actually supplied by the text layer.
The preview and TXT download contain the same text. Inspect the preview before pasting into another application. Changing the page selection clears it; run extraction again to match the new selection.
PDFs position fragments rather than necessarily storing logically ordered paragraphs. Columns, sidebars, footnotes or poorly encoded fonts may therefore produce mixed lines or incorrect characters. Check a representative sample, particularly numbers and references.
Plain text does not retain images, page layout or interactive links. Table text is not a structured spreadsheet: choose CSV or Excel for that purpose. Markdown is more suitable when an approximate representation of headings and paragraphs is useful.
Import the document and select the required pages.
Run extraction and review the text preview.
Copy the text to the clipboard or download it as a TXT file.
Search or compare the text of several report versions without dealing with the PDF layout.
Get plain text to clean, translate or analyse locally, limited to the pages you need.
Copy an exact excerpt from a contract or article without retyping it.
No Markdown markers or text from page 1 are added.
Input
Pages contain First page and Second page; only page 2 is selected.Result
The TXT and preview contain Second page.No. It extracts an existing text layer. Use the OCR link for image-only pages.
Reading order is reconstructed from fragment positions. Multi-column layouts and sidebars can be ambiguous.
It can contain their text, but not a reliable cell structure. Choose CSV or Excel for table extraction.
The source text layer may have incomplete font mappings or earlier OCR errors. Direct extraction cannot infer missing characters.
