How does this tool work?

Removing pages from a PDF drops the sheets you do not need and keeps everything else: an advert in the middle of a statement, a duplicate after scanning, an outdated appendix or an empty last page. You click the thumbnails to remove; they stay visible but greyed out until download, so you can change your mind before producing the new file. Processing happens in your browser.

All pages are shown as thumbnails. One click marks a page as removed; a second click restores it. The counter shows how many pages will be removed, and Undo and Redo in the history fix a series of clicks.

The downloaded file contains the remaining pages in their original order, copied without change: text stays selectable and images keep their quality. The document must keep at least one page; if every thumbnail is greyed out, the download stays disabled.

This tool works by exclusion. If you only keep a few pages of a long document, Extract PDF pages needs fewer clicks.

How to use this tool

  1. Import the document

    Choose the PDF; thumbnails of all its pages appear after the analysis.

  2. Click the pages to remove

    They turn grey. Click a greyed-out page again if you decide to keep it after all.

  3. Download the lighter PDF

    The new file no longer contains the greyed-out pages; the original stays intact.

Tips and best practices

  • Enlarge the window or switch to full screen to read the thumbnails of a dense document before clicking.
  • To remove the empty backs of a double-sided scan automatically, Remove blank pages from a PDF detects them for you.
  • A removed page is no longer in the downloaded file, but nothing is erased from your original copy: keep it until the result is approved.

Frequently asked questions

Can I remove every page?

No. A PDF must keep at least one page: as long as all thumbnails are greyed out, the download is unavailable.

How do I undo removing a page?

Click its greyed-out thumbnail again, or use Undo in the history to step back one click at a time.

Is the removal permanent in the resulting file?

Yes: greyed-out pages are not copied into the new PDF. They do remain in your original file, which is never modified.

Do the other pages change?

No. They are copied without recompression or conversion to images; only page numbers printed on the pages, if any, do not update themselves.

Can I reorder the pages at the same time?

Not in this tool. Remove the unwanted pages first, then run the result through Reorder PDF pages.

Is the document sent to a server?

No. Thumbnails and the new file are produced by the browser without uploading the PDF.
